Xiamen flights affected as heavy snow storm hits north China
A heavy snow storm which hit several cities of China has disrupted air and road traffic on Sunday.
At the International Airport in Beijing, more than 500 flights were delayed by 5 p.m., and over 400 were cancelled, mostly on domestic routes. And Tianjin airport said it also cancelled 160 flights on Sunday.
Heavy snow also disrupted Xiamen flights. Several flights bound for Beijing and Tianjin were delayed. As Tianjin airport had been closed, all the flights bound for Tianjin were cancelled on Sunday afternoon. It is reported a total of 15 Xiamen flights were cancelled on Sunday.
Due to the bad weather, 14 flights bound for Dalian, Nanchang and Chengdu were delayed on Monday morning, and no cancellations were reported.
The snow was expected to stop falling in Beijing on Monday, but temperatures are likely to drop further, with lows of around -20 Celsius, forecasters said.
