Shanghai Expo to Stage 20,000 Performances
The Shanghai World Expo will stage more than 20,000 performances by Chinese and foreign artists.
According to the expo's press release on Monday, audiences will be treated to a kaleidoscope of cultural and arts activities during the 184-day event that starts May 1st.
Some 17,300 performances of 807 shows, selected from more than 10 thousand candidate programs worldwide, have been included in the Expo's program.
The Expo Bureau's coordination department released an initial event listing of 200 performances scheduled for May and June. The Bureau will release specific information about each performance every two months. Audiences can search the information at the Expo's official website and book tickets.
The Expo Bureau expects the total number of performances to be more than 20-thousand by the end of the Expo. It means more than 100 performances on average everyday.
