GDUFS Receives Principal of Canada Kwantlen University
December 3 - A delegation from the Kwantlen University of Canada, including President David Atkinson and Arthur Coren, Dean of the Business School, visited GDUFS on November 13th. Upon arrival, the delegates were greeted by GDUFS President Sui Guangjun in the reception hall on the north campus. Also in attendance was Jiao Fangtai, director of GDUFS’s International Office.
Sui Guangjun extended a warm welcome to the delegation, noting that the collaborative program between GDUFS and Kwantlen University of Canada has been going well, with the number of students involved reaching 70, and that the visit would help promote further cooperation. When introducing GDUFS's international strategies to the guests, Mr. Sui expressed his hope for more support from Kwantlen University and other Canadian universities. It is expected that GDUFS and Kwantlen University will have their students on both campuses in a few years' time.
David Atkinson appreciated GDUFS’s hospitality, saying that he was impressed by the students at the International College of GDUFS, and especially with their English ability. Mr. Atkinson then went on to agree with Mr. Sui's suggestion of strengthening collaboration between the two sides, outlining that he'd be ready to send more students to GDUFS, where they will have a better opportunity to learn the language and culture of China. At the end of the conference, Mr. Atkinson congratulated GDUFS on the establishment of two research institutions and expressed his wish for a more prosperous future with GDUFS.
Opinions on the economic and educational development of Guangdong Province and Canada were also exchanged during the conference. Both sides are dedicated to improving China-Canada communication and collaboration in the area of tertiary education.
