Recently, the latest research result of the sequence and de novo assembly of the giant panda genome in which Scholars at SJTU were involved, finally unveiled the mystery of pandas’unique eating habits. Moreover, scholars at SJTU proposed a bold idea that if human beings had the enzyme to digest cellulose as the panda, then human might be able to eat grass, bamboo and trees directly, which provides a new idea to “energy saving and emission reduction.
