Art Exhibitions for 114th Anniversary Celebration of SJTU Unveiled in Chengji Art Museum
Organized by Chengji Art Museum, School of Media and Design, co-organized by Shanghai Oriental Art Center, School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Civil Engineering and School of Agriculture and Biology, the Art Exhibitions for the 114th Anniversary Celebration of SJTU” will be on display during April 8 to May 8 in Chengji Art Museum as a greeting gift.
In this exhibition, the works of oil painting, pastel painting, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, sculpture, photography and pen draw by some retired and in-service teachers and students of SJTU. Some of these works have been exhibited in the national major artworks exhibition of recent years, including the 10th and 11th National Artworks Exhibition held once every five years, and the 7th and 8th National Watercolor and Gouache Exhibitions. At the same time, in this exhibition, calligraphy works by Professor Chen Yingming, Oil painting by Professor Chen Weinan and photography by Professor Hua Guozhang will be displayed.
As early as 1981, Shanghai Jiao Tong University was the first to open arts courses in the university which is famous for science and technology. This art exhibition from certain aspect reflects the great achievements of SJTU’s arts education and artistic creation, and also pictures the SJTU teachers’and students’ever-increasing appreciation and pursuit of arts and elegant taste. Providing a good platform of art creation and communication for SJTU teachers and students, Chengji Art Museum also promotes the prosperity of the campus culture.
