2010 CTBU Study & Culture Tour Opens
On the morning of May 10th, the Opening Ceremony for 2010 CTBU Study & Culture Tour launched. More than 300 participants were present in the ceremony, including Prof. Li Chunru, Secretary of the Party Committee of CTBU, Prof. Gou Chaoli, Vice President of CTBU, leaders from more than 10 schools and departments of CTBU and 42 professors and students from Widener University, Missouri University, Elgin Community College of U.S.A, Swansea University of U.K., HEC Montreal, Kings’ University College of the University of Western Ontario of Canada and Rajamangala University of Technology of Thailand.
VP Gou, on behalf of CTBU, extended her warmest welcome to all the foreign guests, she also expressed her wishes that by participating this study and culture tour, they would be more familiar with China, Chongqing and CTBU.
Representing all the foreign teachers and students, Paula Silver, a professor from Widener University and Christine Boulais, a student from HEC Montreal delivered speeches that expressed their expectations to this program and their best wishes to the friendship and further cooperation between their universities and CTBU. The CTBU student representative also expressed her sincere wishes to the foreign friends as well.
Then Prof. Li, Secretary of the Party Committee of CTBU, declared the opening of 2010 CTBU Study & Culture Tour and presented commemorative T-shirts as gifts to representatives from each university on behalf of CTBU.
In the following 3 weeks, the international students will participate in varieties of language, culture and other activities, including basic Chinese course, visiting local company, Chongqing city tour, sports meet for fun and etc. At the same time, 10 professors from the visiting universities will present some cultural and academic lectures to CTBU students. Thousands of students from nearly 10 schools of CTBU will take part in these exchange activities directly in the next three weeks.
