SJTU Held a Seminar on Feasibility Study of Phase-Ⅲ Construction of “985 Project”

Transtlate On May 15-16, President Academician Zhang Jie hosted the Seminar on Feasibility Study of Phase-III Construction of "985” Project in B418 Meeting Room of New Administrative Building on Minhang Campus. Lin Zhongqin, Vice President of SJTU, gave the report on SJTU 985 construction plot and building programs. Present at the seminar were also director and vice directors of Academic Committee of SJTU, directors and vice chairmen of each division, university leaders, senior leaders, special experts, principals of each school and the relevant functional departments, and project leaders in charge of 985 Phase-III disciplinary platform as well. The discussion was conducted on the appraisal of the declared projects.
President Zhang Jie explained the relevant matters concerned with this seminar. He pointed out that SJTU had made today’s splendid achievements through 114-year development. This was the embodiment of common efforts that had been made by several generations of SJTU-ers. Especially since 985 Phase-II construction, the university had entered rapid development period. Zhang Jie said that the university attached great importance to 985 Phase-III, and would focus on “Five More”, that is, pay more attention to the future, attach more emphasis on being people-oriented, focus more on talent training, advocate more problem-oriented research and aim more at academic peak of world class.
