Asian Games Preparation Inspected

May 12th - On May 7th, the coordination conference meeting of the Asian Games for operation and preparation was held in the South Campus of GDUFS. During the meeting, The Asian Games Organizing Committee (Abbreviated as AGOC) and the universities which participated in hosting the events had a detailed discussion about the preliminary work for the Asian Games.

Deputy Minister of the Operation & Coordination Office of the AGOC Xie Suqi, Deputy Heads of the Operation & Coordination Office Huang Jiandong, Wen Kai, Head of the Premises & Equipment Department Li Yiming, Deputy Head of Propaganda Department Chen Jialun, Deputy Director of the Team Service of GDUFS Asian Games Premises, Vice President of GDUFS Chen Zirui, Deputy Director of the Premises Security, Political Secretary of the Security Branch of Panyu Police Department Huang Bingnan, Secretary of Premises Operation Lin Shaona, Deputy Secretary Li Xuwu, attended the meeting along with the relevant candidates from the branch of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Premises.

The relevant officials inspected the GDUFS stadium, which is to serve as a host to some Asian Games events. However, there are some minor problems with the venue. This has aroused much attention and GDUFS guaranteed that it will be fixed promptly. Meanwhile, the rectification of the corresponding facilities of the Asian Para Games is to be carried on.

Later, attendees were briefed about the daily operations and the problems that might emerge. According to Mr. Chen, any unfinished preparations will be completed as soon as possible. As for the fund, a consensus has yet to be reached. Mr. Chen promulgated that the GDUFS Asian Games Premises Team was competitive while responsible?

As for the volunteers, Mr. He Yuehui, Manager of the Audience Service, addressed several problems. Firstly, volunteer resting and dining stations were nowhere to be found. Secondly, the demand for volunteers continually fluctuates. Thirdly, a proper system for volunteer allocation has not been devised. To these issues, Xie Suqi promised clarity within five days.

In conclusion, Xie Suqi pointed out that mistakes were inevitable, given that Asian Games had never been held in Guangzhou before. She called for cooperation and mutual understanding during the preparation time. Chen Zirui also claimed that the communication between GDUFS departments and AGOC is vital for a successful and splendid Asian Games.
