Vice-Chancellor of University of Cambridge Visits RUC
RUC President Ji Bocheg met with Prof. Alison Richard, Vice-Chancellor of University of Cambridge, and her delegation on April 16th, 2010. The accompanying visitors included Pro-Vice-Chancellor for international affairs Dr Jennifer Barnes, Head of International Office Ms. Tao-tao Chang, and other four people.
President Ji Baocheng extended his warm welcome to the Cambridge delegation and gave a brief introduction to the teaching and academic research of RUC and international exchanges. He expressed the expectation of conducting various and fruitful collaboration with Cambridge in the future.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alison Richard extended her gratitude to President Ji Baocheng. She pointed out that Cambridge has always been attaching great importance to the virtual exchange and cooperation with world renowned universities and the bottom-up collaboration between bilateral schools and colleges is the most important basis. Both sides agreed to write a new chapter of cooperation based on carrying out joint research in land economy and business management between the two universities.
Prof. Richard would retire at the end of this September, but she could still devote herself to promote co-operations between Cambridge and the other universities in the world. Although Cambridge would experience a transitional period soon, she and her successor together would continue to promote the collaboration between Cambridge and world renowned universities like RUC.
Deputy Dean of RUC School of Business Mao Jiye, Deputy Director of Department of Urban Planning and Management Qin Bo, Deputy Dean of Hanqing Advanced Institute of Economics and Finance Tang Ke, and Director of RUC International Office Tang Zhong also attended the meeting.
