Zhejiang University Ph.D.Candidate Li Yang Won Travel Award on the 26th International Papillomavirus
From July 3 to 8, sponsored by Graduate School funding, Zhejiang University Ph.D. candidate Li Yang and Shen Yuanming attended the 26th International Papillomavirus Conference held in Montreal. Li Yang’s research paper “microRNA profiles of cervical tissues and identification of mir-29 as HPV related miRNAs” won the Travel Award of 1000 US Dollars issued by International Papillomavirus Society. This is a prize specially designed to award students and young researchers with outstanding performances around the world. A total of 45 young scholars and students received the award, among whom Li Yang was the only one from Mainland China.
The conference is a high level HPV research conference organized by International Papillomavirus Society, covering researches on papillomavirus from clinical vaccine virus research to molecular biology. The topics on the conference include: the history of natural HPV infection, HPV and cervical cancer, HPV vaccine and prevention, epidemiology of papillomavirus and so on. About 1800 representatives from North America, Europe, Asia Pacific and Africa attended the conference.
