Live in China, Learn Mandarin Chinese
Mandarin Chinese bridges the cultural exchange between English KLB School and French Bois-le-Roi School.

Let's sing the hello song together!
On 22 March, KLB's students who study Chinese became teachers for an hour. Students from our partner school in Bois-le-Roi, France, were invited to learn some basic Chinese by joining in a carousel of activities, moving to a new activity every 15 minutes. English students taught them how to write the Chinese characters for 'happiness', 'luck' and 'love', how to count to 10 or even 20 to 100. And recognize the characters for 1 to 10, how to express basic feelings and how to have a short conversation about themselves in Mandarin. They also learnt a short song to help them remember 'Ni hao ma?'

How about you feeling now? "Great"
English students Henry Patteson and Ashley Langham excelled themselves by trying out their French and using this as a medium for teaching Chinese, which went down extremely well with the French students. They buzzing atmosphere in the classroom was evidence that everyone had a great time whether they were teaching or learning.

After the class, all the French students were saying "hello ","thank you" , "good-bye" in Mandarin Chinese to Mr Gao and Mrs Tate with their lovely Chinese character cards which were written by themselves. French teacher Mrs Lauren happily said: "It is really enjoyable class and different from the previous cultural exchange I had. All the students are so enthusiastic and willing to study." "we'd like to become one of the Confucius class ".

Is this the right Chinese character "喜"?
After that, Hanban teacher Mr Gao has introduced the French students the Confucius class and activities done by KLB Mandarin-studied students. Most of students were so happy and said they would go to china and they would study Mandarin Chinese when they had gone back to France.
