Summer Camp Successfully Organized by the Confucius Institute at Tallinn University
From 18th of June to 3rd of July, 20 Estonian students started their journey to feel China, the Summer Camp held by the Confucius Institute at Tallinn University for the first time. The summer camp was aimed to provide a chance for the Estonian young people to learn Chinese language,to feel Chinese culture, to experience the Chinese society. In the summer camp, various activities were organized to help the participants know more about current situations of China as well as the culture and educational system so as to promote the exchanges and the friendship between the young people of both countries and also to set a foundation for the further development of Chinese language teaching in Estonia.
Among the participants, there were middle school students and university students, but no matter how old they were, which school they were from and whether they could speak Chinese, their common aim was to improve their Chinese, to enlarge their knowledge and to experiece the life of Chinese young people by themslves.

Learn Chinese Knots
In Guangxi University, the best comprehensive one in Guangxi, the participants received intensive Chinese courses. With the help from the patient and considerate Chinese teachers, their Chinese level was obviously improved. At the same time, they also learned sports and handicrafts with strong Chinese features, for example, Taiji quan, paper cutting, and Chinese knots ect. They made friends with Chinese students, made a trip to the China- Asian expro area of Nanning, paid a visit to the local middle school, and traveled along Lijiang by boat. On the way back to Estonia, they also made a special visit to the Headquaters of the Confucius Institutes and learned how Chinese has spread globally. In addition, they climbed the Great Wall and visited the Forbidden City to learn the history of China.

Despite of only two weeks, the members of the summer camp considered it fruitful, because not only had their Chinese level been improved but also they had made Chinese friends, witnessed the unique Chinese scenery and experienced different customs and lives. Some participants showed their appreciations to CITU for the opportunity provided to both Chinese and Estonian young people, through which they were able to make exchanges and talks with Chinese young people, to experiece their life and study and to know China from different angles as well. Some participants who had been to China for the first time expressed their wish to join the summer camp to go to China and Guangxi of China again next year.
