Successful 2011 Poland-China Summer Camp
On August, North China is still in extremely hot season, while the quiet campus of Tianjin University of Technology was unexpectedly hot since 8th, Aug., when the 2011 Poland-China Summer Camp began officially.
Fully supported by China Hanban and Tianjin University of Technology, the 2-week summer camp organized by Confucius Institute at Mickiewicz University was a great success. And “unprecedented” is the only suitable word to describe the summer camp this year.

Unprecedented size of summer camp with unprecedented number of members. With growing influence of the Confucius Institute, the number of Chinese learners and cultural participants was increasingly increasing, and this year’s summer camp became most heated. Many university students learning Chinese and high school or primary school students from Chinese classes by Confucius Institute, as well as Confucius Institute students, joined in the summer camp actively. Thus, the summer camp is divided into two groups: group of Confucius Institute students and university students, and group of high school and primary school students.

Unprecedented summer camp organization. To ensure a successful summer camp, Confucius Institute at Mickiewicz University and Tianjin University of Technology made careful organization, for the same flight and group transfer, so as to guarantee the safety of the travel and accommodation and transportation of the groups in China. Furthermore, Mr. Andrzej Boleslaw Karas, the president, Mrs. Barbara Ilona Kieronczyk, vice-president, and Mr. Marcin Morawski, teacher in charge of the Chinese class, of the Second CHARLES DE GAULLE High School in Poznan served as the captains of the Summer Camp personally.

Unprecedented careful arrangements for the Summer Camp events. All the members of the Summer Camp spent a rich and unforgettable summer vacation in China thanks to the careful arrangements by International Education College and other relevant offices of Tianjin University of Technology. The activities involved learning and visit. At Chinese classes, people learned delightedly more essential Chinese expressions and more about Chinese language; at cultural experience classes, people experienced with excitement Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy arts, tea culture, food culture, Taiji, folk music, etc. What is more exciting is that the Sumer Camp also included such cultural practices as visiting ancient culture street, walk through small lanes in Beijing, visiting the Temple of Heaven, visiting Terra Cotta Warriors, etc. Frequent cultural activities caused climax after climax. People are busy with taking photos when they got to Tian An Men, Bird Nest Gym, Dayan Pagoda, etc. saying that by so doing they wanted to record everything during the unforgettable travel. The unforgettable was getting to the end. At the farewell dinner of various Jiaozi, friends of China and Poland talked all the way about the friendship between them. They uttered over and over their care for each other.
Unprecedented influence of Confucius Institute. Many students showed their wishes to spend summer vacation in China next year, for they wanted to see more and travel more in China; Many more students said that they would learn Chinese and Chinese culture better, for they like China, and they came to love China and were fascinated by Chinese culture.
