Transtlate On Feb.14, the awarding meeting of 2011 National Science and Technology Awards was held in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. Chinese President Hu Jingtao, Premier Wen Jiabao and some other national leaders attended the meeting.
HUST won 6 science and technology awards, for 4 of which the university was the first author unit and ranked 5th in domestic universities. Among the 6 awards, there were two second prizes of Technological Invention, for both of which HUST was the first author unit, and four second prizes of Progress in Sci. and Tech..
The two achievements of Technology Invention include “High-performance & Low-cost Fine Grain Cobalt-free Metal Ceramic Preparation Technique” accomplished by Xiong Weihao, Zheng Yong, Cui Kun and some other experts, and “Selective Laser Sintering Forming Equipment and Processes” completed by Shi Yusheng, Yan Chunze, Wen Shifeng together with some other participants.
As the first author unit, HUST won two second prizes of Progress in Sci.&Tech.The first project was “Large Quantities of Mixed Flow Production Process Optimization Platform and its Application in Automobile Industry” that was jointly finished by HUST, Chery Automobile Co. Ltd. and some other automobile companies. And the second project was “The Pathogenesis and Standardized Treatment of Bronchial Asthma” accomplished by Union Hospital affiliated to Tongji Medical College of HUST, First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University and some other hospitals.
Besides, those two winning projects of second prizes of Progress in Science .& Technology that HUST had paticipated in were “Research and Application of the Progress Mechanism of Ovarian Cancer and its Repression Strategy” and “ Key Technology and Equipment of Ring Parts Precision Rolling”.
It is reported that winners of 2011 National Science &Technology Awards cover 374 programs and 10 scientists.
