NUAA-Foreign Teacher Got Award

Rex Derby, a professor teaching Aviation English at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was given second prize for his article “The Proof is in the Pudding” in Beijing on April 30, 2012. The award was presented by Edwin Maher, the leading foreign TV news journalist at CCTV International in Beijing. He made special mention of this paper and Mr. Derby in his speech at the award ceremony. The competition, named "My foreign teacher and I" was co-organized by International Talent Exchange magazine and International Talent Center of the State Foreign Expert Bureau.

In Mr. Derby's article, he illustrated the method and the value of teaching Oral English to students who are studying for professions, like flying or air traffic control. His article also records the profound friendship between teachers and students in NUAA.
