Delegation of Tama University, Japan Visits RUC

RUC President Prof. Ji Baocheng and Vice- President Prof. Chen Yulu met with Prof. Terashima Jitsuro, President of Tama University, and Prof. Shen Caibin. Prof. He Ping from RUC School of Finance and representatives from Department of Japanese, RUC School of Foreign Languages and RUC International Office also attended the meeting.

This time, Prof. Terashima Jitsuro paid a visit to RUC as the President of Tama University, President of Mitsui Global Strategic Studies Institute and Chairman of Japan Research Institute.

Prof. Jitsuro firstly extended his appreciation for Prof. Ji’s warm reception and reviewed his visit and giving a lecture to RUC in 2000. Prof. Jitsuro was Prime Minister Hatoyama’s friend since middle school and he has been giving counsels for Prime Minister Hatoyama’s diplomacy policy. He hoped to enhance the bilateral communication and cooperation through his influence upon Japanese political, industrial and academic area and was willing to offer internship opportunities in Japanese enterprises for RUC students.

Prof. Ji Baocheng extended his warm welcome to Prof. Jitsuro and his delegation. He said that RUC attached great importance to the cultivation of students’ practical capacity and wished to cooperate with Tama University in student internship. He also pointed out that the cooperation should not be limited between the two universities, but Prof. Jitsuro’s two research institutes and the counterparts of RUC should carry out strategic research cooperation. Prof. Jitsuro expressed his agreement.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Ji Baocheng extended his welcome to Prof. Jitsuro for addressing again in RUC and would like to send his regards and invitation to Prime Minister Hatoyama to visit RUC in the future.
