On the afternoon of November 7, China International Industry Fair 2009 officially concluded. The display projects of SJTU won two Bronze Awards and one Innovation Award. In the university zone, SJTU won the second prize of the outstanding exhibition, the third prize of the outstanding exhibition, award for outstanding organizer, and the advanced individual award. The number of organizing committee award and total awards won by SJTU was the top most among 57 participating universities.

It is understood that the Industry Fair has attracted altogether over 90,000 professional visitors and achieved 1.744 billion RMB deals of products and technology, which respectively, are 10% and 40% higher than last year. According to the China Industry Fair Organizing Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Industry and Information, and the Ministry of Science and Technology recently jointly issued a document to provide support of technical reform, accreditation of independent innovation products, and export structure adjustment, etc. to the exhibition project of golden level. The project of SJTU which won the organizing committee award this time is a manifestation of the support. The National Standard HD Series Terrestrial Digital TV Modem Chip and Its Solutions led by Professor Zhang Wenjun and the Hard Material Computer-controlled Precision Grinding Technology and Equipments for Spherical Lens led by Professor Hu Dejin respectively won the Bronze Awards. The project which was awarded the 2nd class National Scientific Technology Progress Award, Non Silicon MEMS Technology and Its Application led by Professor Chen Wenyuan won the Innovation Award. The awardees fully demonstrated the independent innovation strength of SJTU.

In addition, in the Chinese university zone, the telex integrated power system by Professor Yin Chengliang from School of Mechanical Engineering won the second prize of the outstanding exhibition; Industrialized Application of Alternate Cooling and Heating Treatment of Bone Tumors by Professor Xu Xuewei from School of Life Sciences & Biotechnology of SJTU won the third prize of the outstanding exhibition; Shanghai Jiao Tong University won the outstanding organizer award; and Vice Dean of Scientific Research Institute, Cao Zhaomin won the advanced individual award. During the fair, the project of Hard Material Computer-controlled Precision Grinding Technology and Equipments received consideration attention from the industry and has made one contract with a company, and negotiated with many other companies.
