Transtlate RUC President Prof. Ji Baocheng met with Prof. Ivan Ilchev, Rector of Sofia University, Bulgaria, and Prof. Alexander Alexiev, Director of Sofia Confucius Institute, on Dec.10th, 2009.
It marked the two university presidents’ first meeting. Prof. Ji introduced the information of faculty and students, disciplinary features and advantages, as well as international exchanges of RUC. Prof. Ilchev also introduced the place and advantage of Sofia University in Bulgaria and even in the Middle East region. Both sides found much in common regarding disciplines and decided to draft a cooperative framework letter of intent by bilateral International offices as a starting point for further collaboration. Ms. Cheng Xin, Deputy Director of RUC International Office, also attended the meeting.
Founded in 1878, the St. Clement of Ohrid University of Sofia or Sofia University is the oldest, largest and most important higher education institution in Bulgaria.
