SJTU and Miyazaki University Signed Agreement on Academic Exchange

Transtlate On the afternoon of December 21, the Resign Ceremony of Agreement on Academic Exchange between SJTU and Miyazaki University was held in 407 Conference Room, A Building of the New Administrative Building on Minhang Campus. Academician Zhang Jie, President of SJTU and Akinobu Sumiyoshi, President of University of Miyazaki jointly signed “Agreement on Academic Exchange between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Miyazaki”and “Memorandum on Student Exchange between Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Miyazaki”. The two universities have reached the cooperative agreements on academic exchange and talent training. The agreement is reached by further cooperation on the basis of the 2004 agreement on academic exchange and student exchange between the two universities. President Zhang Jie cordially met the delegation led by Akinobu Sumiyoshi. The both sides fully affirmed the positive results achieved in the areas of cooperation during the past five years and carried out a friendly and congenial talk focusing on the universities’development positioning, medical research, agricultural engineering, mechanical system and other related issues. President Zhang Jie said that there was a 17-year history between SJTU and University of Miyazaki and in 1999 the two universities signed the agreement on friendly exchange. Over the years, the two universities have made the effective exploration in the academic and student exchange, which laid a sound foundation for cooperation. President Zhang Jie expressed that the deepening of the reform and open policy and the transformation of China’s development patterns, there was a need for more innovative top-notch talents. There would be broad prospect for the two universities’cooperation and exchange in medical science and mechanical field. Akinobu Sumiyoshi hoped to strengthen cooperation to stimulate more interaction results and cultivate more outstanding talents.
