Professor Cao Zhenfu Is Engaged as Editorial Board Member of the Famous Journal
Recently, Professor Damian Niwinski, editor in chief of the famous international journal “Fundamenta Inormaticae” sent an invitation letter to Professor Cao Zhenfu of Computer Science & Engineering Department at SJTU to invite Professor Cao to be the editorial board member of the journal in 2010-2012. And this will make him the only one Chinese among the editorial board members.
Professor Damian Niwinski said that “Fundamenta Informaticae” was initially issued by Professor Helena Rasiowa in 1977. The name was originated from the old-brand international journal “Fundamenta Mathematicae” which was founded by Professor Sierpinski in 1920. This journal mainly publishes original papers in the following areas: mathematics-computer applications, computer-information science and information theory. And it has always been the famous international journal in informational science since its foundation thirty-two years ago.
Professor Cao Zhenfu has made distinguished achievements in number theory, cryptology, computer security and other fields. Since 1981, he has published over 300 journal papers and over 100 international conference papers among which nearly 100 were published in the internationally famous journals and over 10 papers were in the internationally top conferences. Over 110 papers published have been indexed in the SCI and over 150 in the EI. His delegation is very influential internationally and he was invited to give the theme report on “The New Direction of Modern Cryptography” on the Cryptography Forum held in Japan in the last November. In this year’s well-known international conference ASIACCS hosted by ACM, his and his students’ three formal papers were admitted. At the conference, the well-known Indian cryptographer Professor C. Pandu Rangan specially came to Professor Cao and said: “we have been long following your papers.”
It is said that Professor Cao has also been the vice editor of the famous international journal “Computers & Security (Elsevier)” since 2005 and editorial board member of international journal “Peer-to-Peer Networking and Applications (Springer-Verlag)” which was founded in 2007.
