Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to China, Visits RUC

RUC Vice-President Prof. Chen Yulu met with Mr. Sultan Ahmad Baheen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Afghanistan to China, and Mr. Babakhan Aslami, First Secretary (culture) of Afghan Embassy in Beijing, on Dec. 21st, 2009.

During the meeting, Prof. Chen Yulu introduced the RUC’s history and development, educational concept, disciplinary features, and information of students by emphasizing China government scholarship and RUC Scholarship for international students. He also mentioned the Afghan students currently studying at RUC and extended his welcome to more Afghan students to study at RUC in the future.

Ambassador Baheen expressed his great appreciation of RUC’s educational concept and disciplinary features and highly praised the academic strength of Renmin University. He said that China had always been a friendly neighbor of Afghanistan and it would greatly improve the mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries if more Afghanistan students could come to study in China. Finally, Ambassador Baheen said he would help promote more Afghan students to study at RUC so as to further strengthen the academic and cultural cooperation between Afghanistan and China.

Representatives of RUC International Office also attended the meeting.
