The Commencement of the European Culture Carnival

Transtlate The annual carnival of the Faculty of Western Languages & Cultures (FWLC), European Culture Carnival, began on April 15th. Deputy Headmaster Gu Yeli, Vice Director of the Student Department Li Hemin, and Dean of the Faculty of Western Languages & Cultures Zheng Lihua were in attendance. As well, the Secretary of the CPC Office of the FWLC, Huang Qiaoping, Deputy Dean Yang Ke, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Office, Luo Haiyang, and representatives from the consulates and teachers attended the commencement ceremony.
Zheng Lihua presented a welcome address and Gu Yeli declared the commencement of the Carnival.
In subsequent performance, students from the different branches presented the cultures and customs of different European countries.
After the performance, students held their own temporary stores to display the unique commodities and cultures of the countries of their majors.
Among the commodities, Russian pies were quite popular, revealing the hospitality of Russian people. Beer and sausage hamburgers sold by German language students illustrated the spiritual depth of the erudite German people. Spanish, Italian and Portuguese language students also put forward a series of tempting foods and goods, appealing intensively to the students who stopped by.
Due to heavy showers, the Carnival met with some difficulties. Even so, many students devoted themselves completely to the event, attracting many visitors, including students from other faculties.
