Sun Yat-sen University to Build Nuclear Institute
A Sino-French institute for nuclear engineering and technology was established recently by Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou and a French organization of engineers specialized in nuclear energy for civil use called FINUCI. The institute will enroll 100 freshmen per academic year starting in September, 2010. The six year course will lead to a master's degree and the title of engineer provided by Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology.
This cooperation was signed on December 21st during a visit by French Prime Minister, Francois Fillon, which sealed a series of economic, aeronautics and nuclear deals. Premier Wen Jiabao and the president of Sun Yat-sen University, Huang Daren, attended the ceremony.
