Vice Premier Li Keqiang Attended the Ceremony, Party Secretary Ma Dexiu Accepted the Palte-Awarding

At the beginning of the New Year, good news came that as the only university to receive the plates, ShanghaiJiaoTongUniversityhas gained “National Energy Smart Grid (Shanghai) R&DCenter”and “National Energy Offshore Wind Power Technology and EquipmentR&DCenter”co-constructed by Sinovel Wind Co., Ltd.

On January 6, 2010, National Energy Board held live meeting on energy research and development in Beijingto confer the plate to the first 16 national energy R&D (Laboratory) centers and hold the symposium. Li Keqiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council attended the meeting. Present at the meeting were also senior officials and enterprise leaders of National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Finance, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, ChineseAcademyof Sciences, and State Grid Corporation of China, etc. Ma Dexiu, the Secretary of CPC in SJTU, Lin Zhongqin, Vice President, and Professor Jiang Xiuchen of Schoolof Electronics, Information and Electrical Engineering and others also attended the live meeting on energy research and development.

At the meeting, leaders of the National Energy Board conferred plates to the first sixteen national energy R&D (Laboratory) centers. SJTU, as the only one university to accept the plate, gained “National Energy Smart Grid (Shanghai) R&D Center” and “National Energy Offshore Wind Power Technology and Equipment R&D Center” co-constructed by Sinovel Wind Co., Ltd. Later, Vice Premier Li Keqiang and others visited the energy center posters and some models of achievement. When he walked to the poster of SJTUSmart-GridCenter, he asked about the work undertaken by the center, the cooperation with State Grid Corporation of Chinaand the participation in the ultra-high voltage, Professor Jiang Xiuchen and others answered all the questions. In the subsequent symposium, Vice Premier Li Keqiang cordially shook hands with Secretary Ma Dexiu, mentioned in his speech the participation of ShanghaiJiaoTongUniversityin the national energy technology innovation and hoped that universities could make greater contributions in the development of strategic newly emerging industries.
